'Dance Moms' Instructor Charged With Sexually Abusing Underage Students

A Florida dance instructor who appeared on the Lifetime show Dance Moms was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing two of his underage students. Kevin Cosculluela, 25, pleaded not guilty to seven felony charges, including two counts of sexual activity with a 16- or 17-year-old child, two counts of solicitation of a minor via computer, lewd or lascivious conduct, solicitation to commit sexual activity with a 16- or 17-year-old child, and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.

Police say that Cosculluela invited one of the girls back to his apartment on multiple occasions and forced her to perform sex acts on him. If she refused his advances, he would become verbally abusive.

"Kevin would threaten to take away lessons, ignore her during lessons, yell at her, swear at her and not speak to her for days if she didn't do what he wanted," authorities wrote in the warrant.

He was also accused of groping another student while she was stretching during private lessons. In one instance, he invited her back to his apartment to watch a movie and climbed on top of her. She said that they did not have sex.

Cosculluela was also accused of asking the girls to send him naked photos of themselves on Snapchat.

Authorities said that girls idolized Cosculluela because of his role on Dance Moms and never stood up to him because they were "afraid of losing him as a dance teacher."

Cosculluela was fired from his job at Peaches Dance and Music and has been ordered to have "no contact with any child under age 18."
