Sarah Sanders Kicked Out Of Virginia Restaurant Because She Works For Trump

Sarah Sanders

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said that the owner of a Virginia restaurant kicked her, and her family out because she works for President Donald Trump. Sanders and her family sat down for a meal at the Red Hen in Lexington when the owner came to their table asked them to leave.

Sanders tweeted about the incident on her official @PressSec account, saying that she got up and "politely left" adding that the owner's "actions say far more about her than about me."

"Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her  I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so"

Sanders' father, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, came to her defense on Twitter accusing the restaurant of "bigotry" for refusing to serve his daughter.

Bigotry. On the menu at Red Hen Restaurant in Lexington VA. Or you can ask for the “Hate Plate”.  And appetizers are “small plates for small minds”

The Red Hen's Yelp page was inundated with a large number of one and five-star reviews in response to the controversy. Yelp is working to remove the ratings associated with the news reports and put a message on the top of the page stating: "This business is being monitored by Yelp's Support team for content related to media reports." The review-website also posted an alert telling people that they are going to "remove both positive and negative posts that appear to be motivated more by the news coverage itself than the reviewer’s personal consumer experience with the business."

This business recently made waves in the news, which often means that people come to this page to post their views on the news.

While we don’t take a stand one way or the other when it comes to these news events, we do work to remove both positive and negative posts that appear to be motivated more by the news coverage itself than the reviewer’s personal consumer experience with the business.

As a result, your posts to this page may be removed as part of our cleanup process beginning Saturday, June 23, 2018, but you should feel free to post your thoughts about the recent media coverage for this business on Yelp Talk at any time.
