Australian Charged With Trying To Sell North Korean Weapons Systems

An Australian man is facing charges that he worked to broker weapons sales on the black market on behalf of North Korea.  Chan Han Choi is a Sydney man of Korean descent who has been in the country for 3 decades.  Chan allegedly tried to sell missile guidance systems to third parties for millions of dollars to raise money for North Korea.  Australian authorities said the deals were unsuccessful and no weapons components were brought to Australian soil.  Chan was arrested Saturday.  He's also accused of trying to sell North Korean coal to non-government entities in Indonesia and Vietnam.

North Korea has been squeezed by international sanctions amid its ongoing missile and nuclear tests.
